The first step if you have difficulty hearing is to have it checked by your GP. You may have a wax build-up or infection that can be treated. If the ears are clear then you will usually get a referral to the hospital. Alternatively you can then be tested privately by ourselves.
We are able to carry out a full audiometric test in our soundproof booth and will be able to give you a clear picture on screen of your hearing and hearing loss.
This test is free of charge.
Hearing Assessment
The hearing assessment will include:
- Visual examination of the ear with an otoscope or video.
- We will then discuss the problems you are experiencing with your hearing and where it causes most difficulties. At work, home, TV or telephones for example.
- A sound frequency test will be used and plotted on a chart to help us diagnose your hearing loss and how it can be helped.
Following your test, you will have the opportunity of discussing which hearing aids could be used and comparing the features and capabilities of the different makes, models and styles. There will be a range of aids suitable from simple low cost versions to the more capable ones.
